Lake in the Hills Man Dies Following Early Morning Car Accident

A 57-year-old man died as a result of the crash.

A 56-year-old Lake in the Hills man died at around 4:30 a.m. Friday after his car veered off the road and struck a culvert.

McHenry County Coroner Dr. Anne Majewski confirmed her office is investigating the death of George R. Jackson Jr., of Hunters Path.

The accident happened June 28 in an unincorporated area near Woodstock on Route 14, between Hughes and Dimmel roads.

"A 9-1-1 call came in at 4:22 a.m. "after a driver came upon the accident scene at 16210 North Route 14 in Woodstock," Majewski stated in a news release.

"Mr. Jackson was unresponsive at the scene, then transported to Woodstock Centegra Medical Center, where he was pronounced shortly after arrival. Further investigation is currently underway."

A McHenry County Sheriff's release stated it appears Jackson was wearing his seat belt and alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

The accident happened June 28 in an unincorporated area near Woodstock on Route 14, between Hughes and Dimmel roads. The LITH man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the crash, which is under investigation, the Herald reports.
