Join the Citizens Police Academy

Huntley police taking applications for this year's academy.

You won’t get a badge or gun, but Huntley police department’s Citizen Police Academy will give you a working knowledge of the department.

Huntley residents can now apply for the academy. Applications are being accepted at the police department, 10911 Main St.. The academy is scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 2. Class meets every Wednesday from 7-9pm until May 11.

The Citizen Police Academy is a 10-week program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the Huntley Police Department.  It consists of a series of classes and discussions that provide an overview of the various areas of law enforcement.  It is an educational and informative program that allows citizens the opportunity to learn about the issues that affect law enforcement efforts in the Village of Huntley.

The Citizen Police Academy is free of charge and is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age and live or work in the Village of Huntley.

Applicants will be subject to a background check.  Advanced registration is required and seating is limited.

If you are interested in attending the Citizen Police Academy and would like an application, they are available at the Police Department or can be downloaded from the Village of Huntley Police Department website.
