Huntley Woman Dies in Thursday Crash

A 41-year-old Huntley woman was killed Thursday evening in a one-vehicle crash in unincorporated McHenry County just west of Huntley.

Cynthia L. Pauza was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at 5:09 p.m. in the 16600 block of Church Road in unincorporated Coral Township, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office press release. 

Police said Pauza was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 west on Church Road when the vehicle left the roadway to the south and entered a ditch. The vehicle then proceeded westbound when it crossed over a driveway before striking two trees.

The Huntley Fire Protection District and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene. The traffic crash is still under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Crash Investigation Unit.
