Huntley Police Blotter: Cops Investigate Fake Check Used To Buy New Car

Police release this week's reports.

A person used a fraudulent check to buy a vehicle at a Huntley dealership, police said.

Detectives are investigating the report filed Sept. 7 by a dealership in the 13900 block of Auto Mall Drive, according to reports.

Few details were available due to the ongoing investigation, but the suspect walked away with the vehicle, police said.

In other reports released this week:

  • Mohammad M. Islam, 48, of 10916 Sawgrass Lane, Huntley, was arrested Sept. 5 on charges of domestic battery and interfering with a domestic battery report, police said.
  • Credit and debit cards were stolen during a vehicle burglary reported at a park in the 11400 block of Route 47 on Sept. 5, police said.
  • A resident reported someone entered his unlocked car parked in the 10800 block of Timber Drive and took a car radio on Sept. 6, according to reports.
  • Someone stole merchandise and damaged property at a business in the 11100 block of Church Street on Sept. 7, police said.
  • A GPS unit, an iPod adapter and a wallet containing cash were stolen from a vehicle parked at , 13719 Harmony Road, on Sept. 7, police said.
