Huntley Police Blotter: Burglary Arrest

Police release this week's reports.

A Belvidere man is facing a burglary charge in Huntley, police said.

James Francis Stepanek, 31, of 115 W. Macomb St., is charged with burglary and retail theft on Oct. 25, police said. Stepanek was transported to Kane County Jail. No further details were available.

  • A 17-year-old Algonquin male was arrested for speeding 40 mph over the speed limit in a construction zone on Oct. 24, police said. The juvenile posted bond and was released to his mother with a November 18 McHenry County court date.
  • Police charged a 17-year-old Lake in the Hills female was charged with battery and criminal damage to property on Oct. 24. A 16-year-old LITH male was also charged with criminal damage to property, police said. Both were released to their mother and face a court date in juvenile court.
  • A 14-year-old Algonquin male was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of tobacco by a minor on Oct. 25, according to reports. In the same incident a 17-year-old male from Huntley was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Both juveniles were released to their grandmother and will be petitioned to McHenry County Juvenile Court.
  • Two theft reports were taken at the Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road, involving the theft of two iPods on Oct. 26, police said.
  • A 17-year-old female from Huntley was charged with battery at the Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road on Oct. 27, police said. The juvenile was released to her mother and will attend peer jury.
  • Tools were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 10400 block of Sunbury Street on Oct. 28, police said.
  • Someone made unauthorized charges on a Huntley woman’s credit card, police said. The victim, of the 9900 block of Route 47, discovered the charges on Oct. 29.
  • Craig M. Rauchenberger, 51, of 11644 Wembly Dr., Huntley, was arrested and charged with reckless driving on Oct. 30. Rauchenberger posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of Dec. 16.
  • Robert J. Miller, 25, of 4122 W. Lake Shore, Wonder Lake, was arrested and charged with failure to notify police after damaging property in a crash and was cited for failure to report a vehicle accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane use on Oct. 30. Miller posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of Nov. 18.
