Huntley Man Killed in Early Morning Apartment Fire

Allen R. Jacobs, 47, was killed in the fire at Woodcreek Apartments in Huntley.

 

Huntley resident Allen R. Jacobs, 47, was killed this morning in a two-alarm fire at the Woodcreek Apartments complex in Huntley, the Northwest Herald reports.

Twelve other residents have also been left without a home because of the fire, which started at about 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from a first-floor unit, which soon spread to two other units, the Herald reports.

Huntley Fire Protection District was assisted by 15 area firefighting agencies. One Huntley fire suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released. The fire is under investigation, but no foul play is suspected, the Herald reports.

Woodcreek Apartments are located east of Route 47, north of Kreutzer Road.
