Huntley Man Charged with Murder in Girlfriend's Death

Police say death was domestic homicide.

A 43-year-old man is charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 52-year-old woman in what police describe as a domestic homicide, according to Huntley police reports.

Michelle C. Mathieu, of 12966 Rock Springs Lane, was found unconscious in the master bedroom of the home she shared with Robert Signorile, 43, on Sunday, March 18, police said.

She was transported to Sherman Hospital, Elgin, where she had been receiving medical treatment until she died on March 24, Huntley police stated in a press release issued Tuesday.

Huntley police said the couple moved to Huntley in August 2011 and officers had been called to the home previously for a domestic violence report.

Signorile was convicted of a domestic battery charge in Ocotober 2011 and sentenced to a one-year supervision, fined $263 and ordered to attend anger counseling, police said.
