Heroin Use on the Rise in Kane Co.

Kane Co. Sheriff Pat Perez said residents are taking the train to the west side of Chicago to get the heroin, according to the Daily Herald.

Heroin use has been on the rise in Kane County since the 1990s with Kane County officials estimating a 30 percent rise in use of the illicit drug over the past year, according to a Daily Herald article. 

Kane Co. Sheriff Pat Perez, Coroner Rob Russell and State's Attorney Joe McMahon spoke up about the drug during a Kane County Board Judicial and Public Safety Committee meeting on Friday, according to the Daily Herald article.
