Accident Shuts Down Route 20 and Big Timber Road Intersection For Hours
An accident involving a semi-trailer and car shut down the intersection of Route 20 and Big Timber Road for several hours.
UPDATE: Hampshire firefighters said a woman died at the scene but authorities did not release her identity. Firefighters said the accident occurred at 4:40 p.m. when a semi-trailer traveling westbound struck the victim's car on the driver's side.
The road was closed for five hours as Hampshire police investigated.

About a dozen Hampshire police, fire, and other state officials responded to an accident near the intersection of Route 20 and Big Timber Road Wednesday night. The accident involved a semi-trailer and a car. The Kane County Coroner was at the scene of the accident.
