Does David Hale Hate America?

I try to be an informed voter. I don’t just listen to news or read the paper. I go to the Internet and try to find more information. Every voter should do this. You also have to be careful about what you find on the Internet because it may or may not be true.

I have come to believe that Adam Kinzinger is the best choice for the 16th congressional district. If there had been a better choice, I would vote for that person.

Rep. Kinzinger does have a primary opponent and his name is David Hale. Mr. Hale is the head of the Rockford Tea Party. I have gone to the Rockford Tea Party Facebook page and the profile photo for the page is Mr. Hale’s campaign sign and I thought that was odd.

Mr. Hale posts angry rant after angry rant on the page and I was turned-off. I don’t have anything against the Tea Party and I share many of the frustrations voiced by them and feel that government is too big and intrusive. I am also a pro-life Christian and generally conservative on social issues but I do not consider myself an extremist.

I did some searching on Google and found a website that was attacking Hale. The site claimed that Hale’s girlfriend and the mother of his child had filed a restraining order against him. The website also claimed Hale said that he hated America and had a snapshot of the blog he had taken down.

A person named Hale responded to the claims saying the restraining order had been removed or was false and that he did not hate America.

I’m not sure if Hale is a violent person who hates America. These are the difficult things a voter has to weigh before they get in the voting booth. There are too many questions and serious concerns about Mr. Hale to support him even if I agree with him on some issues. After looking at Mr. Hale’s Facebook page, I won’t run the risk of voting for someone who is prone to angry outbursts or hateful politics and having them represent me in Congress.
