Kenneth A. Fredin, 75, of Huntley; Formerly of Barrington

Kenneth A. Fredin, 75, of Huntley, formerly of Barrington, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Centegra Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock. 

Kenneth was born March 20, 1938, in Barrington. 

Ken graduated from Barrington High School in 1957.

He was a pipefitter with Chicago Pipefitters Local 597 for 46 years, he served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post 77 in Belvidere, and Post 337 in Genoa along with the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Gilberts.

Kenneth was also a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge in Huntley, Belvidere, and Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was a free spirit and loved to socialize.

Survivors include his children, Jennifer (Daniel Patrick) Delaney, Paul Fredin, Christina Marie Rocha and Peter Fredin; nine loving grandchildren ; 2 great grandsons; brothers, David, Jerry (Joan) and Philip (Jerri) Fredin; many loving nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, father, Gustaf and mothers, Margaret (nee Erickson) Fredin, and Eleanor (Aevermann) Fredin; and two step-brothers Alvin and Arthur Aevermann. 

A visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington, with a eulogy service at 7 p.m.

The graveside service for Kenneth will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2, at Evergreen Cemetery, 610 Dundee Ave., Barrington.
