Larry W. Smith, Republican Candidate for McHenry County Board District 6

My name is Larry W. Smith and I am your Republican candidate for the County Board District 6 seat.

I have been a self-employed business owner in McHenry County for over 30 years.

I recently sold my business and I now feel that I have the time and energy to devote to doing a good job for you as your representative on the County Board.

My business and life experiences are a great plus as a County Board Member representing you.

Past Experience

• Business owner and chief financial officer of 3 successful McHenry County businesses.
• Personally negotiated independent contractor agreements, employee contracts, benefit packages, etc.
• As a real estate franchise owner and builder, I have worked with government offices on all levels.
• As a licensed real estate appraiser I have helped clients with the protest of their real estate taxes, and have worked with the County Board of Appeals and other governmental agencies.

Present

• I am attending County Board meetings and reading the transcripts of past meetings, to be as well versed as possible about County Board business.
• I am a Real Estate Broker/Sales Consultant with Re/Max Plaza Realty.
• I am on the Board of Directors of an insurance company and am personally involved in company policy negotiations, labor negotiations, etc.
• I am a Farm Owner/Manager.

My goal as a County Board member will be to use my experience and what some have referred to as “my common sense approach” to represent the people of District 6 to the best of my ability.

I am an experienced decision maker who will bring a fresh perspective to the County Board.

I am an independent thinking Republican who will have a positive approach to County business that will be free of the bipartisan politics that has hindered good government in the past.
