A message from the McHenry County Department of Health
Solid Waste Manager: Kristy Hecke
My name is Kristy Hecke and I am the Solid Waste Manager for McHenry County. We are in the process of updating the McHenry County Solid Waste Management Plan. As part of this process, I am requesting your assistance with distribution of the survey for McHenry County homeowners, business owners/operators, agriculturalists, institutions and organizations to participate in an online survey for the development of the McHenry County Solid Waste Management Plan Update. Community input is an important part of the planning process.
This important survey seeks to solicit feedback about solid waste issues such as garbage and recycling and the management of waste materials such as household hazardous waste, livestock waste/manure, food scrap collection for composting, grease and oil, industrial waste and construction/demolition debris. The survey will also ask for their perspective regarding barriers to recycling, the level of importance for certain types of waste materials and initiatives in an effort to reduce reliance on landfills for disposal, maximize recycling rates and improve solid waste management in McHenry County.
The link to the electronic survey will be available online at the Department's webpage www.mcdh.info beginning October 15th and end on October 29th. Please provide the survey link on your webpage or e-mail the survey link to increase its availability for our residents. Residents will also be able to select the link from any webpage or e-mail and complete the survey.
I sincerely appreciate your time and assistance regarding the distribution of this survey. Should you have any questions regarding the solid waste management plan update process, please contact me at (815) 334-4585 or via e-mail at KLHecke@co.mchenry.il.us .
