First 'ChristKindlFest' Opens in Barrington This Weekend

Explore a European-inspired holiday market right in downtown Barrington at the first annual ChristKindlFest December 6-8.

Following the traditions of European open-air holiday markets, ChristKindlFest comes to Barrington.

From Dec. 6-8, the first annual ChristKindlFest will transport you to the heart of these holiday village markets with Swiss chalets selling chocolates, German pastries, ornaments, handcrafted items, clothing and more. There will be entertainment featuring traditional German music, madrigals, and rides for young children. A German food court will include classic German foods, German beers and traditional German glug.

Entertainment throughout the day will feature children’s choirs, dance troupes, traditional German music, strolling carolers, and rock bands. There will be a carousel, train rides, bumper cars and reindeer for young children.

Entry to ChristKindlFest is free. The heated tent pavilion is free until 7 p.m. and is a great place to sit, eat, drink, and listen to music all day and night with live talent scheduled from open to close. On Friday and Saturday night, after 7 p.m., there is a $5 cover in the tent pavilion only to see the featured rock bands on the main stage.
