Fireside Fun weekend at Durant House Museum

Want a unique winter event that the whole family
can enjoy? Well you can do that on February 15th and 16th
from 1-4pm at the 1843 Durant House Museum located in St.Charles. The Fireside
Fun event encourages visitors of all ages to enjoy learning and playing many
popular 19th century games, including Nine Mens Morris, checkers and skittles
and take part in other activities as well. Authentically costumed docents will
offer guided tours and invite guest to the hearth’s warm glow to enjoy some
pioneer hospitality. Visitors can also tour the Pioneer Sholes School, will be open on Sunday, February 16th, just
located steps away! Admission to the Durant House is $2.00 for adults and $1.00
for children between the ages of 3 and 12 years.



The Durant House Museum and Sholes School are
located in LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean Street, about a half a mile
west of Randall Rd. in St. Charles. No registration is needed. For more information
