WWII Vet Greeted by Friends, Neighbors from Honor Flight

Al Jordi welcomed home from special trip.

A group of 20 Huntley residents traveled to Midway Airport Wednesday night to greet hometown World War II Al Jordi as he returned from an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

Grafton Township provided transportation to some of those who greeted Jordi as he and other WWII vets arrived, said Grafton Township Supervisor Linda Moore.

There were bagpipe bands and representatives from every branch of the military and hallways filled with cheering, tearful family and friends, Moore said.
