Wind Advisory in Effect

High winds expected this afternoon and into the evening.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory in effect from 3 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday.

Winds are expected to reach 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, the weather service said. The winds will continue to increase throughout the afternoon and tonight.

Minor wind damage could be seen in the area, including McHenry and Kane counties. Loose outdoor objects, like lawn furniture, should be secured, the weather service said.
