Weather Advisory Issued

National Weather Service estimates 3 to 5 inches of snow.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory effective from 6pm Thursday to 9am Friday for McHenry and Kane Counties.

Sleet is expected to turn into heavy snow with an estimated 3 to 5 inches accumulation by Friday morning, the NWS said.  Winds may be gusting up to 25 mph and produce blowing and drifting snow that will affect visibility, the weather service said.
