UPDATE: The tornado warning has expired. But a severe thunderstorm warning continues.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for McHenry County until 5:30 pm. Authorities say take shelter as a storm capable of creating a tornado moves into the area. The storm was located five miles northwest of Woodstock.
According to television reports, a weather spotter saw the beginning of a funnel cloud.
