Sun City Concert Band Presents "Hallelujah Holiday"

The band will perform its annual winter concert today and Saturday.

 

The Sun City Concert Band presents its annual winter concert, “Hallelujah Holiday” today and Saturday.

The band, comprised of about 50 musicians, will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday and at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Drendell Ballroom at the Sun City Prairie Lodge, 12880 Del Webb Blvd., Huntley.

The first half of the concert will feature pop and classical music. The second half will feature holiday music including Cowboy Christmas, The Eighth Candle, Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, Toboggan Ride and Themes from the Nutcracker, according to a band press release.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults, and $3 for students.

The Sun City Concert Band has performed at several venues this past year including the Sun City winter and spring concerts, the Sun City golf cart parade, the combined Huntley High School-Sun City Band Concert, the Quilts of Valor Concert, the Scandinavian Fest in Elgin, and the Randall Oaks Concert for Dundee Township Park District, the release said.

Many of the members hadn’t played for years before picking up their instruments again. The band welcomes any Sun City resident wanting to play with the group.
