State Lawmakers Set Hearing on Redistricting

Local representatives to attend meeting.

Members of the Illinois House Redistricting Committee will be holding a hearing in McHenry County Saturday at Marengo Community High School Saturday.

The meeting will begin at 10:00 A.M. in the school auditorium, 110 Franks Road.

All McHenry County residents are invited to attend. Committee members will explain the remap process that occurs every 10 years after U.S. Census data is gathered. , and residents can make public comments to express their ideas and concerns.

State Representatives Mike Tryon, R-Crystal Lake and Jack Franks, D-Marengo, will both attend.

“This part of the state might see some significant changes to legislative boundaries due to population changes over the last ten years,” Tryon said. “Residents need to attend this meeting and let the members of the majority party who are charged with drawing the new map that we need a fair map based on population only and not on any political agendas.”
