Patch: Your Best Friend for Local Online Information Needs You

We at Patch work very hard to get as much information about your community in your hands. To make sure we don't miss a beat, we've made the site extremely user-friendly — here, learn how to get your news, events and more posted on Patch.

Patch is proving that the information superhighway is, in fact, a two-way street. There are many ways for you to participate on Patch and share your own news with the community. All you need is a free Patch user name and password (or simply log in via Facebook), plus these handy directions:

  • Events: If your group or organization has a fundraiser, workshop, lecture or other public event, add it to the Patch Events Calendar. The process is very user-friendly. Include photos, videos and links. The item goes directly to the calendar without stopping at an editor.
  • Announcements: News of a job change or promotion, important public information or simply good news from your life can be shared on the Announcements page. The process is similar to posting Events, and every Announcement is part of the Patch Daily Email Newsletter.
  • Blog: Be an expert on the subject of your choosing, share and debate your political views or deliver commentary on local news with your own Patch blog. You decide how often and how long you write; Patch simply provides the outlet.
