NFL Stars to Attend Area Golf Fundraiser

The ninth annual Allie & Friends Golf Classic will be held at the Boulder Ridge Country Club on May 6.

National Football League Hall of Famer Dan Hampton and former Chicago Bear Glen Kozlowski will join former Indianapolis Colt Ryan Diem at the Boulder Ridge Country Club in Lake in the Hills on May 6 at the Allie & Friends Golf Classic.

The golf tournament, now in its 9th year, has raised nearly $1 million for the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation over the past eight years. Allie & Friends was founded in 2005 by Scott and Kristin Jewson after they learned Allie, the 2-year-old daughter of friends Brian and Keri Neff, had been diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma. Allie died in 2006.

"Allie & Friends continues on in her memory and helps us continue to fight for all the other children and families living with cancer," Kristin Jewson said. "That is why we do what we can."

The cost to golf is $250 for a single or $1,000 for a foursome and proceeds will go to help fight this pediatric cancer. Shotgun start is at 9 a.m.  A silent auction, dinner and awards follow the golf tournament.

The Cup for a Cure trophy is awarded to the top foursome,  who also will be presented with matching pink jackets that are sure to turn heads.
