Grafton Provides Seniors with Ride to Honor Flight Reception

Huntley veteran among those on Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

Grafton Township is planning a senior bus trip to an Honor Flight reception for Huntley veteran Al Jordi Wednesday evening.

Supervisor Linda Moore said residents 55 years or older can join a trip to Midway Airport in Chicago to attend a reception that includes Jordi.

Jordi is a World War II veteran who was recently selected to participate in the Honor Flight. The flight to Washington D.C. is funded by the Honor Flight Foundation, a nonprofit that flies WWII veterans to the capitol and takes them to memorials and other locations. Jorid’s flight is scheduled at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The township will pick up riders at their home and drop them off after the reception. The bus will leave at 8 p.m., Moore said. Donations for the cost of fuel and driver would be appreciated. A $5 deposit is required to hold a seat.

To participate, contact Moore at 847-669-3328.
