The Kane County Health Department is recommending that residents who do not have air conditioning go to a public building such as a library, shopping mall or other public buildings.
In Huntley, village hall, 10987 Main St., is available to residents. It is open from 8am to 5pm.
Huntley Area Public Library, 11000 Ruth Road, is also a good place to go to escape the heat. The library is open from 9am to 8pm during the week and from 9am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday. The hours are 12-5pm on Sunday.

McHenry County has one cooling center in Woodstock at the Illinois Health and Human Services Building, 2215 Lake Shore Drive.
