Huntley Area Public Library Receives Donation from Huntley Historical Society

Members of the Huntley Historical Society visited the Huntley Area Public Library to present 7 DVDs of oral history recordings from long-time local residents.

Members of the Huntley Historical Society visited the Huntley Area Public Library to present the Library’s Local History Department with 7 DVDs of oral history recordings from long-time local residents.

Historical Society members produced the interviews.  Elaine Kadakia and Jim Donohue interviewed residents, and Mark Skaja filmed each session.

The Local History Department of the Huntley Area Public Library archives local history artifacts, documents, obituaries, photos and family histories.  Efforts are underway to digitize the local history collection and make it available online to the community.  Digitized items and other area local history information can be found at the Huntley Area Public Library’s Local History website at: http://lh.huntleylibrary.info/.
