Huntley Chamber Readies for 2012 Home and Business Expo

Only a few booths remain open for businesses wanting to participate in the annual event.

Organizers of the 2012 Huntley Chamber Home and Business Expo are busy preparing for the event, which is just two weeks away.

There are still a few booths available for any business owners or organizations wanting to participate in this year’s expo, Chamber President Rita Slawek said.

Booths “in Gym 1 are sold out, but we do have some opportunities in Gym 2,” Slawek said Thursday. “We’ve been getting a lot of calls today from businesses wanting in.”

The 2012 Home and Business Expo is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.

For the second consecutive year, the expo is at Marlowe Middle School, 9625 Haligus Road, Lake in the Hills. The public event is free.

Slawek said booths at the expo typically do sell out, and visitors have the opportunity to meet with more than 100 exhibitors. Anyone interested in participating as an exhibitor should contact the chamber offices at 1-847-669-0166 or visit the Huntley Chamber of Commerce website.

This year’s highlights include door prizes for adults and children; Lollipop the Clown; free shuttle service from Sun City; the Expo café featuring Subway Sandwiches, and .

New this year, representatives from the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office will hold the “Cash Dash” from noon to 2 p.m. both days. Visitors can search data to see if they have any unclaimed money owed to them by the state.

Representatives for Huntley Patch will be greeting visitors from booth 39 in Gym 1.
