The preliminary plans, developed by Kahler Slater Architects, based in Milwaukee, Wis., for the $233 million hospital feature 100 medical surgical beds, an eight-bed Intensive Care Unit, a full-service emergency department with a Level II trauma center, Level II special care nursery and non-invasive cardiology services. Plans include a helipad for transporting patients with the most critical needs and a dedicated women’s center.

Huntley officials have already zoned the land where the hospital will be built, on Haligus and Reed Roads, she said.

The engineering could take about a year, Milford said.

Once plans are finalized and Centegra secures the necessary permits and plan approval from the village, construction can start, she said.

“We will move to construction and it will take 30 months then an additional six months to get all approvals from regulatory bodies,” Milford said.

Centegra expects to see its first patients four years from now, she said.
