Update: Your Guide To Local Fireworks, Fourth of July Festivities

The Fourth of July weekend is offically here.

For those staying in the area this weekend, there are plenty of choices when it comes to area fireworks displays.

Below we’ve provided you with a guide for local Fourth of July festivities and fireworks. Let us know if we’ve missed one of your favorite displays by posting in the comments section below. Fourth of July Fireworks Display Guide

Huntley — Huntley Outlet Center, 11800 Factory Shops Blvd. Fireworks start at dusk Monday.

Fireworks will be shot over the field adjacent to the mall.

All-day activities include a sidewalk sale. Stores will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Capacity is 1,750 parking spaces.

Crystal Lake Community Fireworks Display — Crystal Lake Main Beach, 300 Lake Shore Drive. Fireworks start at dusk on Sunday, July 3.

Fireworks sponsored by the city of Crystal Lake will be shot over the lake beginning at dusk. Viewing available from Crystal Lake Main Beach. Regular beach and parking admission prices apply for people arriving before 3 p.m.

After 3 p.m., beach admission is $2 per person with $10 maximum per family (immediate family members only).  Parking after 3 p.m. in the Main Beach parking lot is free for residents with a city sticker, and $5 for nonresidents.

The fireworks culminate a day filled with the parade at 1 p.m. sponsored by the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce, and the  32nd Lakeside Festival held at the historic Dole mansion, 401 Country Club Road. The festival, located across from Main Beach, offers food from local restaurants, entertainment and carnival rides.

Wonder Lake — Center Beach, near Hancock and East Lake Shore drives in Wonder Lake. Fireworks start at dusk Sunday.

The show follows a day of events including food vendors, a parade and Children’s Zone and games starting at 1:30 p.m., held next to the Wonder Lake Chamber of Commerce, 7602 Hancock Drive. A free art show will be held at Dockside Tavern building on East Lakeshore Drive.

The Wonder Lake Ski Team show begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Center Beach, Hancock Drive and East Lake Shore Drive.

Hoffman Estates Fourth of July Festival – Village Hall Grounds, 1900 Hassell Road. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. Monday.

From Thursday, June 30, to Monday, July 4, Hoffman Estates is hosting its annual Fourth of July Festival. The festival features carnivals, a parade, food vendors, music, and other cultural stops for everyone in the family. Tickets for rides, food, and drink will be available for purchase during the duration of the festival.

Fireworks last about 30 minutes. Fireworks are free and parking is available for free at the ADP building as well as the Muir School.

Barrington – Barrington High School, Lake Cook and Hart roads. Fireworks start at dusk Sunday.

Viewing area for Barrington’s fireworks will be in the Barrington High School lawn. Admission and parking for the fireworks are free.

In addition to the fireworks display, Barrington will host its annual parade Monday, July 4. Beginning at 10 a.m., the parade will feature cars, floats, bands, and treats for those in attendance.

Wauconda — Cook Memorial Park, 600 N. Main St., Wauconda, fireworks start at dusk Sunday.

Celebration starts at 6 p.m. with food vendors and other activities in Cook Park. Fireworks display over Bangs Lake at dusk. This year’s fireworks show was paid for through a communitywide fundraiser.

The rain date for the fireworks is Monday, July 4.

Grand Geneva and Timber Ridge Independence Day Celebration — Grand Geneva and Timber Ridge, 7046 Grand Geneva Way, Lake Geneva, Wis., fireworks start at dusk Sunday. 

Fireworks are free; food is a la carte.

Grand Geneva invites residents of the surrounding communities and travelers alike to its all-day festivities that support a good cause. New this year, Grand Geneva is asking each firework attendee to donate two nonperishable items that will be given to the Lake Geneva Food Pantry.

Activities include arts and crafts show, face painting, caricaturist, balloon artist, bounce house. Also available: picnic foods, Embers Terrace Dinner event, and 5K run/walk.

Free water ski show prior to grand fireworks display at dusk.

Geneva National 4th of July Fireworks and BBQ — Geneva National Golf Club, 1221 Geneva National Avenue South, Lake Geneva, Wis. Fireworks start at dusk Sunday.

Festivities start at 5 p.m. Enjoy a traditional Fourth of July holiday picnic and fireworks. Inflatable games and more available on the driving range. Barbecue picnic and bar is open to the public in the pavilion behind the clubhouse.

Fireworks are free. Food and beverage are a la carte.

Woodstock — Emricson Park, 326 Washington St., Woodstock. Fireworks will be Monday. 

Bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the tradition of Woodstock’s Fourth of July fireworks show from atop the sledding hill at Emricson Park.

Cost to park inside Emricson Park is $5. Walkers are advised to use the South Street or Jackson Street entrances.

Naperville — Knoch Park, 724 West St., Naperville. Fireworks start at dusk Monday and are part of Naperville’s Ribfest celebration.

Presented by The Exchange Club of Naperville, the city of Naperville and Naperville Park District. Starting at 9:30 p.m., Naperville offers one of the longest fireworks show in the area, lasting almost 30 minutes. Fireworks display is part of the Naperville Ribfest celebration.

Knoch Park will be closed off when filled to capacity. Fireworks attendees should arrive early, as park fills up quickly during free admission period. Park gates open at 7:30 p.m., according to event organizers.

Chicago — Navy Pier. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. Monday.

The city’s only official Fourth of July fireworks. The pier will be closed when filled to capacity. Navy Pier provides the lights and sounds of fireworks all summer long at 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays and at 10:15 p.m. Saturdays.
