Patch Exclusive: A Q&A with the Easter Bunny

Who is the Easter Bunny? Huntley Patch poses questions that generate revealing answers.

The Easter Bunny has been spending time in the area delivering baskets to families and attending a slew of egg hunts. The Bunny will be at the Huntley Park District’s annual egg hunt on Saturday, April 8. The hunt starts at 10 a.m. sharp at Deicke Park.

But who is the Easter Bunny really? Huntley Patch had a brief question-and-answer session with the Bunny between deliveries of Easter baskets this week.

Q: What is your favorite Easter candy? Do you prefer Reese’s peanut butter eggs or Peeps?

A: The Bunny gave thumbs up to Reese’s peanut butter eggs.

Fun Fact: Infoplease.com says the National Confectioner’s Association ranks Easter as “the second most important candy-eating occasion of the year for Americans.” Last year, 7 billion pounds were consumed, the site states.

Q: What is your favorite song? “Here Comes Peter Cottontail” or the Kris Kross 1992 classic Jump?

A: The Bunny jumped up and down indicating her favorite song is the old school hip-hop song, Jump.

Q: Do you get offended when people eat chocolate bunnies?

A: The Bunny said no, not all. Everyone should enjoy the yummy treats.

Fun Fact: How do you eat a chocolate bunny? According to an Infoplease.com poll 76 percent of American think the ears should be eaten first; 5 percent said the feet should be eaten first and 4 percent eat the tail first. What’s your preference? Tell us in the comments below.

Q: What do you do with your Easter eggs the day after Easter? Do you make egg salad or deviled eggs?

A: The Bunny prefers egg salad.

Q: Does Santa share his naughty/nice list with you?

A: The Bunny said yes. The Bunny and Santa have a good working relationship and confer about kids who should get Easter baskets full of candy or coal.
