McHenry Woman Wins $200K Lucky Day Lotto Jackpot

Rosalina Deinlein, of McHenry, won the July 12 drawing of the Lucky Day Lotto, according to Illinois Lottery officials.

A McHenry woman's dreams came true on July 12, when her Lucky Day Lotto ticket matched all the winning numbers and made her $200,000 richer.

Rosalina Deinlein said she purchased her lottery ticket at the Meijer gas station, 2149 N. Richmond Rd., McHenry, and eventually discovered her numbers - 03, 06, 11, 26, and 30 were the perfect match for the July 12 drawing.

“This is a dream come true -- my ship has come in,” Deinlein said when she visited the Illinois Lottery Des Plaines Prize Center to present her $200,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket.

Deinlein plans to use her lottery windfall to buy a house, according to an Illinois Lottery news release.

“I rent an apartment right now, and now I can have my own house,”  she told lottery officials.

When asked if she had any advice for others about playing the lottery she said, “Take a chance and buy a ticket, but be smart and only spend what you can afford.”

Deinlein chose her numbers randomly. The Meijer gasoline station will receive a $2,000 bonus, equal to one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket, according to the release.

Deinlein's win marks the second big prize winning lottery ticket sold recently in McHenry. The 7-Eleven located at 3808 West Elm Street sold a $1million winning ticket for the June 12 Powerball drawing, lottery officials said.

Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are now twice a day, seven days a week with over 40,000 winners every day. That’s over 250,000 winners in Illinois every week, according to the Illinois Lottery.
