McHenry County Emergency Management Services Presents Weather Spotters Classes

Experts to teach safety and reporting strategies.

  The McHenry County Emergency Management Agency, in conjunction with the McHenry County College and the National Weather Service, are offering a Severe Weather Spotters Class. The program is set for Thursday, February 9 from 1-3:30 pm or 7-9:30 pm.  The location is McHenry County College Conference Center, 8900 US Hwy 14, in Crystal Lake. Guest Speakers will include David Christensen, the Director of the McHenry County Emergency Management Agency. Christensen will discuss the procedures that are implemented at the McHenry County Government Center. Jim Allsopp, National Weather Service, will discuss the nature of severe weather systems, the do’s and don’ts during severe weather, how to report severe weather to the National Weather Service, and the role of the National Weather Service.
