Here are some guidelines to follow to keep your pets healthy and cool.
Keeping your dogs cool is especially important in the excessive heat Huntley has been facing this past week. Follow these tips to protect your pets from the sun.
1. Limit outside time
2. Keep plenty of fresh, cold water available at all times

3. Cool down your dog with cold, wet towels or with a cold bath
4. Avoid taking your dog for a walk during the day – aim for a walk at dawn or at dusk when the sun is not as strong

6. Do not take your dogs in the car with you
How can you help out Animal House Shelter during this heat? Look into adoption! A majority of the pets the shelter takes in are from pounds in southern Illinois with no air conditioning. The only way the shelter can take in more dogs and cats is if more are adopted, so please, stop by and see us.
