Huntley Tea Party Explores U.S. Constitution

Group invites Constitution expert to Huntley.

 

Over the course of human history, there have been hundreds of revolutions, but only one revolution led to a functioning representative government grounded in freedom of the individual.

The U.S. Constitution establishes three branches of government, but with a focus on restraints and limits on the powers of each branch as well as specific protections for the rights of the individual.  The core value of the U.S. Constitution is freedom of the individual in opposition to the authority and powers of the state.  There is no system of government on the planet that protects freedom more than the US Constitution.

On April 26, the Huntley Tea Party will host a meeting on the core concepts of our Constitution at 6:30 p.m. at the Cosman Center, 12015 Mill St., Huntley.

The featured guest speaker is Chad Kent, a writer and award-winning speaker on the Constitution and the principles of freedom.

Discussion will revolve around the core concepts of freedom embedded in our Constitution as well as what we as citizens need to know today to secure the freedoms guaranteed to Americans.

“The way to secure liberty is to place it in the people's hands, that is, to give them the power at all times to defend it in the legislature and in the courts of justice,” the late President John Adams said.
