Huntley Library Kicks Off Summer Reading Programs

Registration for summer reading programs at the Huntley Area Public Library began Wednesday.

With school officially out for the supper, the Huntley Area Public Library kicked off its summer reading program this past week.

Registration for reading programs began Wednesday. The library, located at 11000 Ruth Road, offers options for all-age groups to participate by reading throughout the entire summer.

Here is a look at some of the programs offered through the library:

  • Huntley Area Public Library Camp Reads-A-Lot
Register in person or online beginning June 5. Spend time reading each day and attend library programs this summer for Camp Cash and prize drawing entries! For ages birth-grade 6.

  • Teen Book Camp (Teen Summer Reading Club)
Drop and give us 20…minutes of reading every day this summer!  The more reading you do, the more chances you have to win prizes and advance in the ranks.  Review the books you read for more opportunities to win. Register in person or online starting June 5.  For grades 7-12.

  • Park Yourself and Read
Adults, ages 18 and up, are invited to join the HAPL Adult Summer Reading Program. Registration begins June 5th, at the library and online.
Participants receive a coupon from the Friends Foundation for one free item (up to a $2 value).
Summer reading runs through Aug. 10, 2013. The Huntley Area Public Library website has more information on this year's summer reading
