“The library is continuously pursuing grants to purchase library materials, supplement service offerings and to fund building maintenance and other projects.  Grants help the library maximize the services we can provide to the community,” Library Director Patrick McDonald said in a release.

The Illinois School Library Media Association, in conjunction with Library Book Selection Service, established a grant opportunity open to both school and public libraries that serve children.  A grant for the 2012 collection of Monarch Award Winning books was received, adding 20 books to Huntley Library’s collection for checkout.  The grant is valued at about $250.

The library has also been awarded a “Business and Libraries: Working Together” Grant from the State of Illinois Small Business Association.  The grant includes a tablet computer and books to help businesses and entrepreneurs create community economic growth.  The materials are valued at approximately $1,000.
