Get Out: Take in a Play This Weekend

Take in a play, a gardening seminar, an art show and more this weekend.

Where/When: , 13719 Harmony Road, Huntley. Friday and Saturday, July 22 and 23, at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 24 at 3 p.m. 

Why go: Marlowe Middle School’s Summer Stock presents a performance of The Three Musketeers. The audience will be mesmerized by the production’s lavish costuming and set, ballet dancing, swordfighting, singing in French and more.

Why go: Get your kids interested in gardening at this fun, informative and active seminar at The Barn Nursery & Landscape Center. Attendants will learn how to attract butterflies to their garden with certain types of plants.

Why go: Compete for the title of “Beach Champions” at the Battle at Indian Trail Beach. Teams of six will play lakefront games including a sack race, water balloon toss, tug-o-war, watermelon eating contest and more, with prizes for the winners.

Why go: Enjoy a Sunday morning hike at Stillman Nature Center. Volunteers will lead a tour of the “south forty” prairie that they have been working to restore.
