Fundraising Art Exhibit at Huntley Library

Friends Foundation of Huntley Public Library hosts 3rd annual art exhibit and auction.

The Huntley Area Public Library Friends Foundation is hosting its third annual Think Outside the Box Art Exhibit and Silent Auction Fundraiser throughout the month of February. The month has become known as Library Lover’s Month, and each year features a fundraiser for the library.

This year, twenty-four round wooden boxes are on display, and have been painted, stained, jeweled, quilted, and even knitted. The creations are open for bid through February 28 at 7:30 p.m., when the bidding will be closed.

The high bidder for each box will be contacted on March 1. A gallery of the exhibit is available on the Friends Foundation website.

Silent auction bids begin at $30 and all funds raised go to help the Huntley Area Public Library serve the community.  Some items the Friends Foundation provide include all programs and prizes for the Summer and Winter Reading Programs for all ages, all paid library speakers for programs and events, expansion of the eBook collection, and the HelpNow! tutoring database for students within the Library District to name a few.
