Cinco de Mayo is one of those "holidays" that everyone can embrace for fun. Ironically, it is not celebrated as widely in Mexico, but American alochol marketers have embraced the day. In that spirit, Patch Picks has five Mexican foods and drinks you can try to commemorate Cinco de Mayo.

3. Tequila rose

A warning: this tastes like a strawberry shake, but it’s alcohol. Just beware. This liquor is hard to find, but carries it. The cost is $22, but it’s worth the price.

4. Churros

You know, those long, deep fried things with sugar and cinnamon. We had you at deep fried, right? Believe it or not, the best churros can be found at….in Lake in the Hills. They are fresh and a bargain.

5. Tequila silver

Ah, the ultimate in tequila. Binny’s Beverage Depot, with a location in Algonquin, has a list of 227 tequilas on its website. You’ll be able to find a variety of silver tequila there.
