It’s a national event that celebrates reading and Star Wars, according to starswars.com. The event was created by Lucasfilm and its publishing partners_Abrams, Chronicle Books, Dark Horse, Del Rey, DK Publishing, Random House Audio, Scholastic, Titan Magazines and Workman.

The day is being held on Saturday, Oct. 6.
Barnes & Noble at Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee is holding one of about 1,000 events throughout the nation with surprises that Star Wars fans will love.

Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion’s Midwest Garrison will visit from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Darth Vader, Storm Troopers and others will be at the bookstore for photos.
There will also be special activities and drawings for children.
Star Wars illustrator Dave Dorman (Star Wars: Crimson Empire III: Empire Lost and others) will be on hand at 2 p.m. for a book signing.
Barnes & Noble is located at Spring Hill Mall, 1468 Spring Hill Mall Blvd, West Dundee.
