The boutique opened in 1996 and was inspired by the owner’s oldest daughter, Mary, according to its website. It is located inside Tom’s Farm Market, which is closed for the winter. The farm market and boutique will re-open the first week of April. The boutique is worth the wait. It has lots of items from lotions to tea sets to unique seasonal items. Plus, there’s a cute diner with reasonable prices.

 

• Huntley Antique & Jewelry Mall

If you love antiques or you’re searching for that perfect gift, has lots of choices. Located at Huntley Outlet Mall, this shop also offers appraisals and has consignment items.

 

• The Little Traveler

404 S. Third St., Geneva

The ultimate in boutiques, the Little Traveler is a situated downtown in Kane County’s county seat. It is a renovated house that holds a variety of boutiques each featuring different items including handbags, jewelry, kitchen items, gourmet food, wine and children’s clothing and toys. It is a Geneva landmark that started more than 80 years ago.

 

• Your Best Friend’s Closet

Owner Marianne Evans always dreamed of having her own boutique and opened Your Best Friend’s Closet in 2004. Her website says it’s a place to go for a laugh, a friendly face and a shoulder to lean on. New items are put on the floor everyday.

Owners Gina Gerardi and Audra Whitesell offer “style sealed with a kiss,” according to their website. The two longtime Algonquin residents wanted to open a hip, trendy shop in town. The boutique has up and coming designers whose creations are offered at a reasonable price.
