Camping, Bike Ride Just a Few Family Activities Happening This Weekend

Spend quality time with your loved ones at this weekend's family-friendly events, including an overnight campout in the park and a Sunday afternoon group bike ride.

Where/When: , Meeting Room, 1606 3 Oaks Road, Cary. Saturday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.         

Why go: Enjoy scrapping and socializing at the Cary Area Library with fellow scrapbooking enthuasists. Drop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., bring your materials and spread out on the provided tables.

Famiy Friendly!

Where/When: , 140 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Saturday, June 18 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.      

Why go: The First Annual Charlie’s Doghouse fundraiser and adoption event will feature $10 dog baths, raffles, pet adoptions, food and family fun. All proceeds benefit the Chicagoland Dog Rescue.  

Pricing: Free.

 



Where/When: , 201 N. Harrison St., Algonquin. Saturday and Sunday, June 18 and 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Why go: View fine art in the beauty of Riverfront Park. Local artisits will be showing their creations at the 4th annual Art on the Fox show.

Family Friendly!

Where/When: , 511 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington. Starts Saturday, June 18 at 5 p.m. and ends Sunday, June 19 at 8:30 a.m.

Why go: Enjoy an evening sleeping under the stars! The Barrington Park District hosts a Family Campout at Citizens Park, with a bonfire, s’mores, food and drinks and more.

Pricing: Free.

 



Where/When: , Big Gym, 12015 Mill St., Huntley. Saturday, June 18 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.   

Why go: Enjoy a benefit concert with a variety of music and an animal show, all to benefit the “To Write Love on Her Arms” organization. Admission is $5 at the door, and proceeds go to the organiation, whose mission is to help people with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide issues. 

Pricing: $5 per person at the door.  

 



Family Friendly!

Where/When: , 5200 Miller Road, Lake in the Hills. Sunday, June 19 at 3 p.m.      

Why go: Enjoy a Sunday afternoon bike ride with the family through downtown Lake in the Hills. Meet at the Sunset Park concession stand, then enjoy a casual ride through town. All ages of riders welcome, but please have kids under the age of 7 in a tandem trailer or bike seat.
