BritBeat Beatles Tribute Coming to Huntley

District 158 Foundation to host the group as a fundraiser

For all of the Beatles fans on your Christmas list, the District 158 Education Foundation has the perfect gift.

The foundation is hosting a fundraiser concert on Jan. 21, featuring BritBeat – America’s Premier Tribute to the Beatles.

The show at Huntley High School will feature a live concert by BritBeat.

The group, complete with mop tops, English-cut suits, vintage instruments and harmonizing vocals, will transport you back to 1964.

You’ll get to see and hear the complete Beatles anthology, including highlights from the Ed Sullivan, Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road eras, as well as a special BritBeat Fantasy Reunion Tour.

It will be a great show for the community, and a great value for the money, said foundation Vice President Emily McMahon.

“I think people can expect for sure to be entertained, and to see a show and a concert that is perfect for any Beatles fan,” McMahon said. “We’re sponsoring this event as a fun way to raise funds for the foundation.”

The foundation is a nonprofit group that raises funds to help the students in Huntley School District 158 through classroom grants that enhance education, and through scholarships for seniors at Huntley High School.

Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $125,000 in grants and more than $90,000 in scholarships.

The foundation raises its funds through donors, and through events such as the upcoming Breakfast with Santa in December, and through this BritBeat concert.

The concert not only will be fun, but also will help out a good cause, organizers said. They are hoping community members will come together to support the foundation through the entertaining show.

“Attending this event would be a great opportunity to have a fun, affordable night out while at the same time supporting the students of District 158,” McMahon said.

Organizers said tickets to the event could be a perfect Christmas gift for anyone on your list who loves the Beatles.

Not only will they get the joy of the gift on Christmas, but that joy will continue when they get to attend the concert in January, where Beatles fans will get to see some of their favorite songs come to life on the stage right here in Huntley.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at Huntley High School’s Performing Arts Center.

All tickets are $25 and can be purchased at http://www.district158.org/education-foundation/.

The foundation also is looking for sponsorship of the event.
