YOU can make a difference in the life of a senior in need. Faith in Action of McHenry County is looking for volunteer drivers, friendly visitors and supportive individuals to help seniors stay in their own homes for as long and as safely possible. Many requests come in specifically with transportation needs within the Sun City Community. Just an hour per week will make a lasting impact for someone needing your help. Please attend a Volunteer Orientation at St. Mary’s for more information. Held on the last Tuesday of each month from 1:30-3:00 pm in the Kreutzer room. More About St. Mary Catholic Church
St. Mary Catholic Church contains vintage treasures such as stained-glass windows dating to the early 1900s. A mosaic of the Resurrection fills the northern outside wall of the church. There is a meditation path that winds around the building with benches, statues and a gazebo with a wooden statute of St. Francis of Assisi. Inside, the church is filled with other distinctive pieces, including the Holy Spirit Skylight. This skylight is located above the altar and is modeled after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. A guide to all the images in St. Mary's is available in the church office.
