  I am a resident of the Northbridge Subdivision in Huntley. My backyard backs up to Haligus Road across from Centegra Health Campus. When we moved into our house we were told that Haligus Road would eventually be built but it would not be a main throughway for Huntley residents. We were also told that Tom’s Farm would never sell its land so we would not have to worry about what was going to be built in back of us. As we reflect on the 10th anniversary of 9-11, we wish to thank all of the First Responders and Armed Services Members for their sacrifices to maintain and preserve the strength of our nation. It was the first week of September 2001 when my family and I proudly gathered on the parade grounds of Camp Pendleton, San Diego. My grandson, Ken Monsen, was graduating from Marine boot camp and we were so very proud as we watching the young Marines marching toward their families. Even though it was a beautiful early fall day, a huge puddle remained on the field forma rain the day or two before.
