Chicago man arrested and charged with possession of stolen vehicle, McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies said.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Chicago man involved a single-car accident in unincorporated Marengo on charges of car theft, according to reports.
Richard A. Enriquez, 32, is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, a Class 2 felony and street driving under the influence, a misdemeanor and driving while license revoked, sheriff’s deputies said.
Enriquez was involved in a car accident in the 2004 grey Ford Pickup truck he was driving, reports stated. He was driving in the 25000 block of Illinois Route 20 around 11 p.m. Sunday when the accident occurred, deputies said.
Deputies at the scene noticed the vehicle resembled a stolen vehicle reported out of Harvard and were able to confirm it was stolen.
Enriquez was transported to Centegra Hospital Woodstock where he was released Monday and taken into custody, deputies said. He was charged and transported to the county jail.
