Huntley Man Charged with Giving Teens Access to Alcohol

A 48-year-old Huntley man is accused of letting minors drink alcohol, police said.

Oscar Baez, of 10826 Cape Cod Lane, faces a charge o allowing access to alcohol by minors, reports stated. He was arrested on April 15, at the same time police arrested and charged five juveniles with consumption of alcohol by a minor, police said. The teens are aged 15 to 16 years old, reports stated. Baez and the juveniles were given a court date of May 23 in McHenry County.

Police did not release additional details.

In other reports released Thursday,

-Michael F. Alejandro, 41, of 11809 Mill St., Huntley was arrested on April 11 for harassment by electronic communication, police said. Alejandro posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of May 20.

-A theft report was taken in the 11100 block of Douglas Ave. on April 11, reports state. The victim states his garbage can was stolen.

-Nicholas J. Golonka, 27, of 1941 Brockton Lane, Huntley, was arrested for driving while license suspended, possession of a suspended license and a tinted window violation on April 12. Golonka posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of May 20.

-Edward Young, 53, of 920 N. Sterling #230, Palatine, IL was arrested for driving while license revoked and was cited for a tinted windshield violation on April 12. Young posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of May 27.

-A resident in the 10600 block of Rushmore Lane filed an identity theft report and told police someone used his personal identification to open a credit card account on April 13, reports stated.

-Anthony E. Romano, 21, of 5422 Euclid McHenry, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and was cited for following too closely and improper lane use on April 13, according to police. Romano posted bond and was released with a Kane County court date of May 3.

-Paul D. Merling, 40, 10745 Great Plaines, Huntley, was arrested for driving while license suspended on April 14, police said. Merling posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of May 6.

-An identity theft report was taken in the 10500 block of Cindy Jo Ave. on April 14 where an unknown person used the victim’s Social Security number to gain employment, police said.

-Abigail D. Kroll, 18, of 1370 Burke Lane, South Elgin, was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor on April 14, police said. Kroll was released with a McHenry County court date of May 23.

-Daniel A. Leahy,  38, of 121 Hickory, Lake in the Hills, was arrested for driving while license suspended, display of suspended registration and possession of a suspended driver’s license on April 15, police said. Leahy was cited for display of a false insurance card and driving with no front plate, reports stated. Leahy posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of May 20.

-Police said Jane E. Montemayor, 48, of 42W064 Retreat Court, St. Charles, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and unlawful display of a suspended drivers license and cited for driving with no proof of insurance on April 15. Montemayor posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of May 20.

-A deceptive practice report was taken in the 10800 block of Timer Drive, Huntley, on April 15. The victim states money was withdrawn from his checking account without his authorization, police said.

-Ivan Gomez, 21, of 924 Front St., McHenry, was arrested for driving while license suspended and was cited for driving with no insurance and driving with a defective windshield on April 16, police said. Gomez posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of May 27.

-Paige N. Cook, 20, of 11602 E. Main St., Huntley, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to residence on April 17, according to police. Cook posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of May 20.

-A criminal damage to vehicle report was taken in the 11600 block of Main St. on April 17, reports stated.

-Police said Jasmine C. Phrathep,  19, of 1607 Marlboro Circle, Carpentersville, was arrested for driving with no valid drivers license and was cited for a tinted window violation on April 17. Phrathep posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of May 20.
