Garbage Rates Increasing in Huntley
Village alerting residents of increase taking effect March 1.
MDC Environmental Services is increasing collection rates in March in Huntley.

Collection rates for MDC Environmental service is increasing, per the wastehauler’s contract, in March.
The increase excludes apartments and Sun City.
New rates will be $19.47 and $16.42 for seniors. The rates will be reflected in the company’s quarterly invoices.

Does anyone know what Sun City residents are charged - understand it is included in the monthly association fee?

Sun City residents have a different garbage pick-up company than the rest of Huntley. And yes we pay in our association for garbage and recycling.

I think the age is 60, (???) but it is also the smaller can. The recycle can is the same size. You have to call and make arrangements for that to the company, not the Village.

I just got the following info from the finance dept at Sun City. They have apparently been able to negotiate a superb deal over what Huntley got.
"Our correct rate is $14.54. In May we budgeted to increase to $14.83. This includes picking up one large item free of charge per week... We also have the top of the drive service where they will come to the top of the driveway to pick up your trash instead of you having to put it at the curb..."
