Five Area Easter Events, Egg Hunts
Area communities will be hosting Easter egg hunts and other Easter events in the days leading up to Easter.
Saturday, March 23
8 a.m.: The Village of Lake in the Hills Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road in Lake in the Hills. Kids should bring their own baskets to fill with eggs. This event is free and open to the public.
9 to 11 a.m.: The Easter Bunny will travel to Park Place for the Crystal Lake Park District's Breakfast with the Bunny. A traditional Easter breakfast will be served and there will be goody bags for children and a visit from the Easter Bunny. There will be no assigned seating, all children must be accomponied by an adult and advance registration is required. Ticket cost is $12 per person (children under 1 are free).Register online for program code #5802-0.
11:30 a.m.: The Crystal Lake Park District will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Lippold Park, which is located on Route 176 just west of Route 14 in Crystal Lake. Thousands of eggs will be on site. The hunt will be held at the soccer fields located at the southeast end of Lippold Park. Bring a basket to collect eggs. A fee of $2 per child is payable at the hunt. For more information, call 815-459-0680. Wednesday, March 27
6:30/7 p.m.: The Cary Park District will host a Dog Easter Egg Hunt at Hoffman Park, on West Main Street in Cary. Small dogs will get to hunt for treats at 6:30 p.m. while an egg hunt for medium to large dogs will begin at 7 p.m. All dogs must be on a leash. The event is free and open to the public.
Saturday, March 30
10 a.m.: The annual Huntley Park District Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 10 a.m. sharp at Deicke Park. The Easter Bunny will be on hand at the egg hunt. Children will be divided into groups 2 to 3 years, 4 to 5 years, and 6 to 8 years, and there will be a separate section for children with special needs. Don't forget to bring your own basket/container to gather eggs. There will be parking available at the REC Center on Mill Street.
