Driver's License Help for Seniors

Free program offered at Grafton Township

Grafton Township is hosting a Super Senior event to help with driver's license renewal.

From 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., seniors can attend the free event at the American Legion Hall, 11712 Coral St., Huntley.

At the event, seniors can review the rules of the road in preparation of taking the written test. It also will allow seniors to renew their driver's license or obtain a free State ID card.

The rules of the road refresher course class will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

It is designed to give drivers, especially senior citizens, the knowledge and confidence needed to renew or obtain a driver’s license. The Review Course combines an explanation of the driving exam with a practice written exam.

At the event, you can also:

-Renew or correct a driver's license

-Get a new, renew or correct a State ID

-Get license plate stickers

-Do Motor Vehicle registration with renewal of DL/ID

-Do organ donor registration with renewal of DL/ID

-Get a free State ID if you are a senior age 65 and over

To find out what documents are considered acceptable for identification and what fees are involved, call (217) 782-7044 or visit the Illinois Secretary of State website at www.cyberdriveillinois.com.
